Cherry Blossoms

 The Cherry Blossoms were absolutely beautiful.  I'm so glad that we got the chance to go.

Our hotel was AT LEAST 20 blocks from the Cherry Blossom Festivities.  We were just outside of Chinatown.

These 3 pictures were all taken by my granddaughter Ali in the backseat of my car as I am frantically trying to figure out which highway takes us OUT of this madness!  This was a beautiful place, but it was a terrible place to try to drive in.  Every time we got in the car - we got lost!  Ali did an excellent job with these pictures. 

Washington DC

One of the things on my "50 by 50" List was to go to Washington DC during the annual National Cherry  Blossom Festival".  I was able to go there over April 1 weekend with my grandchildren and my daughter-in-law.  This picture was taken by my granddaughter as we were leaving to head back to the hotel for the night.  We were too beat (Ok, exhausted) to stay for the fireworks.  It was pretty cold and windy once the sun went down.

Every time I see geese now I think of my friend Alicia.  I think that this guy was lookin' for ya Alicia!!  Either that, or he was lookin' for my car!!  haha.

400-some days and counting...

So here's the deal.... Alaska trip 2011 is cancelled.  Instead, my friend and I will go to Vegas for my birthday this year.  However - I've decided to take my mother on an Alaskan cruise in 2012, so we are in the process of  rescheduling / rebooking.  But mother is excited and so am I. 

So yes, I'm posting more pictures of Alaska that I have not taken myself.  (I'll get over it eventually - I promise!)
